During the Christmas season, two women who have never met find themselves at a low point in their love lives. Iris, a British journalist who is in love with a colleague who does not reciprocate her feelings, feels trapped in a one-sided relationship. On the other hand, Amanda, a young businesswoman from Los Angeles who has just discovered that her partner has betrayed her, seeks to escape the hustle and bustle of her life in California. In a burst of courage and a desire for change, they both decide to swap homes for the holidays: Iris goes to sunny California, while Amanda settles into the cozy cabin in the English Alps.
As they adapt to their new surroundings, each begins to rediscover herself and heal her broken heart. Iris meets a charming but scruffy screenwriter named Jack, who shows her that true love can be unexpected. Amanda, on her part, feels drawn to Iris's brother, a sensible and caring man who seems to be everything she never knew she needed.
Through fun encounters, tender moments, and a good dose of reflections on love, these two women come to realize that sometimes we must step out of our comfort zone to find happiness. Set against the backdrop of the festive spirit, the film reminds us that love can arise in the most unexpected places.
