In 1830s London, an obstinate archaeologist, Professor Henry Willoughby, makes a surprising discovery in an ancient mansion: an enigmatic torture device known as the Iron Maiden. As he investigates its history, he becomes obsessed with unraveling the secrets of its creation and the dark past of its inventor, a famous blacksmith who mysteriously vanished.
The plot thickens when Henry begins to receive threatening warnings from a stranger with a history linked to the machine. Despite the risks, his curiosity knows no bounds and he decides to continue his investigation, which strains his relationship with his beloved, the brave Eliza, who fears for his safety. With her support and the help of an elderly historian, they uncover that the Iron Maiden was used in sinister rituals, where human lives were sacrificed in the name of ancient deities.
