Portrait of a Lady on Fire

In the 18th century, on a remote island in Brittany, a young painter is sent to create a portrait of a woman named Héloïse, who has just lost her sister and refuses to pose for artists. The artist, who disguises herself as a maid of honor, must study Héloïse in secret, capturing her essence while they share moments in the idyllic landscape. As the days go by, the two women develop a deep connection, often filled with laughter, discussions about life, and hidden longings.

As the artist immerses herself in the creative process, an irresistible attraction emerges that defies the social conventions of their time. However, their relationship goes beyond the physical; it intertwines with desires for freedom, independence, and art itself. At the same time, the pressure from Héloïse's impending wedding, arranged by her mother, casts a dark backdrop.

Both women find themselves trapped between passion and reality, struggling to find their place in a world that doesn't allow them to be free. The atmosphere becomes more tense as the moment of farewell approaches, and the final portrait, symbolizing their love and connection, serves not only as a work of art but as an eternal reminder of what they have shared. With stunning visual style and a captivating narrative, this story is a tribute to creativity and desire that will resonate in the hearts of those who see it.
