In a small town in California during the 1930s, Frank's life is a haven of monotony and hard work at a gas station. Everything changes when a statuesque and seductive woman named Cora appears on the scene. Cora is trapped in a loveless marriage with the owner of the place, a possessive and jealous man. The spark between Frank and Cora is instant, unleashing an intense passion they cannot ignore.

Together, they devise a dangerous plan to escape the oppressive life they lead, and as their hearts beat in unison, the idea of a future together presents itself like a mirage. However, events take a dark turn when they decide to eliminate Cora's husband to be together. From then on, the story becomes a game of cat and mouse that intertwines love, betrayal, and desperation.

As their plans unravel, the two lovers find themselves caught in a web of guilt and threat, and every decision they make pushes them further toward the abyss. The tension escalates with each scene, as fate seems to conspire against them. In the end, the quest for freedom becomes a deadly trap where nothing is as it seems, and love can be both a lifeline and a curse. Will they be able to escape the consequences of their actions, or will the past always find a way to collect what it is owed?
