The Proposition

In the arid landscape of Australia in the 19th century, a British officer offers a heartbreaking proposal to an ex-convict and his younger brother. Captured by the law, the eldest of the three brothers, Charlie, finds himself in a daunting situation: if he wants to save his brother's life, he must track down and eliminate his older brother, Arthur, a dangerous outlaw who has unleashed chaos in the region. As Charlie ventures into the hostile terrain, he confronts a gray morality, questioning his loyalty to family and the justice represented by colonial society.

The violent encounters between the outlaws and British gendarmes add palpable tension to the narrative. As Charlie draws closer to Arthur, the story explores the complexity of the brotherly relationship, revealing deep layers of betrayal, redemption, and fraternal love. The oppressive atmosphere of the Australian desert becomes a character in its own right, reflecting Charlie's internal struggle and the brutality of the environment. With stunning cinematography and a captivating soundtrack, the plot unfolds in an overwhelming moral journey, where each decision carries significant cost. In the end, the proposal becomes not just a matter of life or death, but a profound reflection on what it means to be human in a world filled with violence and despair.
