After her magical adventures in the Land of Oz, Dorothy returns to Kansas, where she tries to rebuild her life after the storm. But reality is not that simple. When her mother takes her to a disturbing institution for “treatment,” Dorothy escapes and, after a mysterious encounter with a storm, is swept back into that dreamlike world. However, the country she remembers is no longer the same: Oz is under the yoke of the wicked Queen Mombi, who has taken control using her fearsome powers.
Dorothy encounters an unconventional cast of friends. She rescues a new Scarecrow who has lost his intelligence, a lion who has forgotten how to roar, and an egg thief who turns out to be something more. Together, they embark on a dangerous mission to free the King of Oz and restore hope to its inhabitants. However, Dorothy's greatest challenge is facing her own fears, as well as the revelation that true magic lies in friendship, courage, and believing in oneself.
With surreal settings, strange creatures, and a good dose of darkness, the story explores themes of identity, bravery, and the power of dreams. The iconic characters from the original series are intertwined with new twists, creating a visual and emotional experience that resonates both with those who grew up with the tales and with new generations who dare to dream.
