Ben Barber is an aspiring police officer who dreams of following in the footsteps of his future wife, Angela, who comes from a family of law enforcement officers. However, before he can take the leap, his future brother-in-law, James Payton, a tough and experienced detective, gives him a challenge: to spend a day with him on the streets of Atlanta. The idea is for Ben to prove his bravery and ability to look after Angela.
What starts as a day of teamwork quickly turns into a parade of comedic and disastrous situations. Ben, who lacks the necessary experience to navigate the world of crime, finds himself dealing with dangerous gang members, unexpected situations, and James's distrust, who sees him as incompetent. As the day goes on, the dynamic between the two men becomes tense, but also hilarious.
