The story revolves around Sabrina Fairchild, the charming yet somewhat clumsy daughter of a chauffeur for a wealthy New York family, the Larrabees. After returning from Paris, where she spent some time trying to find her identity and a bit of love, Sabrina realizes she has grown into an elegant and sophisticated woman. Now, her feelings for David Larrabee, the carefree and hedonistic younger son of the family, seem to be more than just a simple teenage crush.
David, playful and libertine, is drawn to Sabrina, but his attention soon shifts to an aristocratic fiancée. This leaves Sabrina disillusioned, but not for long, as Linus Larrabee, the competent older brother on whom everyone depends, decides to intervene. With a cold and calculating mind, Linus attempts to seduce Sabrina to prevent David from getting married, thereby saving the family's image.
However, in the process, Linus finds himself trapped in his own game. As he contrasts his pragmatism with the idealized love that Sabrina feels, an unexpected spark is ignited within him. As the lines between duty and desire blur, all the characters must confront what they truly want in this endearing romantic comedy that reveals what it means to love and be loved.
