In the tumultuous context of World War II, a young but brilliant explosives engineer, Sammy Rice, finds himself caught in a spiral of self-destruction. With a past marked by insecurity and pain, his life becomes even more complicated as he faces an increasing dependence on alcohol that threatens both his career and his relationship with his love, the impressively understanding and strong woman named Sue. Against the backdrop of developing new weapons to combat the Nazi threat, Sammy delves into a world of pressure and paranoia, where every decision could mean life or death.

As he works closely with his colleagues to defuse a series of mysterious bombs, his vulnerability becomes apparent, and his inner struggle transforms into a light yet dark battle. As his team faces an explosive challenge, Sammy must confront his own demons and make crucial decisions that could redeem him or condemn him forever. The story intertwines moments of deep tension with an emotional exploration of human fragility, courage, and sacrifice. With a focus on the more intimate side of war, the film delves into the mind of a man caught between his patriotic duty and his personal quest for redemption, leaving the audience reflecting on the cost of war beyond the battlefields.
