In a world where reality and madness intertwine, a frustrated puppeteer, Craig, finds himself trapped in a miserable job as an assistant in an unconventional office building. One day, while exploring a mysterious space in the attic of his workplace, he discovers a secret door that leads him into the mind of John Malkovich, the iconic actor. Upon crossing the threshold, Craig not only gets to experience the life of the famous performer but can also control his actions for a brief period of time. Intrigued by this phenomenon, he decides to start a business where others can have the same adventure, diving into the actor's mind for 15 minutes.

As the peculiar idea gains popularity, Craig becomes increasingly obsessed with Malkovich and, in the process, drags along his wife, Lotte, as well as Maxine, a seductive coworker. The tension between these characters intensifies as they all seek love, recognition, and a sense of identity in a chaotic world. However, the lines between reality and fiction begin to blur, leading them to an unexpected conclusion where the power of the mind becomes a dangerous trap. This surreal experience explores themes of desire, obsession, and the relentless quest for self, prompting a reflection on the perception of identity in the modern era.
