In a crossroads between thriller and film noir, a prominent editor of a crime magazine becomes the prime suspect in a murder he never wished for and never thought would affect him. George Stroud is a respected man in his job, but his life takes a dark turn when he becomes embroiled in the murder of a beautiful woman, the mistress of his boss. It all begins with a night of drinking and an unfortunate encounter, where a series of damning decisions drag him into the public eye. Unwittingly, George becomes the detective of his own story, trying to unravel the truth that threatens him.

As George navigates the intricate web of betrayals and deceptions, he encounters a powerful clock that becomes a symbol of the time slipping away, shortening his chance to prove his innocence. With a tense atmosphere and masterful direction, the film follows his desperate quest through a game of shadows and lights, where every tick of the clock is a reminder of the imminent danger he faces. As time runs out, paranoia and distrust take hold of him, and soon reality begins to blur. What follows is a whirlwind of unexpected twists and an ending that defies expectations, showing how one lie can lead to a tragic chain of events that ensnare even the most innocent.
