Set during the Great Depression, we follow the story of Bertha, a bold and determined young woman living in the southern United States. After losing her parents, she joins a group of vagabonds living on the fringes of society, traveling on freight trains and confronting the harsh realities of the time. Bertha falls in love with one of the outlaws in the group, a charismatic thief named Big Bill, who has a rebellious approach to life.

As Bertha delves deeper into this world of crime and chaos, she becomes a key figure in the group, participating in daring robberies and standing up against the injustice of the corrupt authorities that prey on the working class. With a mix of action, romance, and a strong sense of community, Bertha’s life quickly transforms into a rebellion against the system.

Throughout the film, themes such as the struggle for survival, loyalty, oppression, and the quest for freedom in a time of despair are explored. Bertha challenges the conventions of her time and fights for what she believes is right, while grappling with moral dilemmas and the consequences of her choices. As the conflict intensifies, she must decide how far she is willing to go for love and justice, putting not only her own life at risk but also that of her loved ones. The story culminates in an explosive conclusion that resonates with the longing for change in an unjust world.
