In the dark and enigmatic Venice, John and Laura Baxter, a grieving couple, try to piece their lives back together after the tragic death of their daughter. To escape their pain, they decide to take a trip to Italy, where John, an art restorer, becomes immersed in a project to restore a church. However, their new reality is disrupted when Laura forms a strange friendship with two psychic sisters who reveal unsettling visions about their deceased daughter.

As Laura begins to cling to the idea that her daughter is still present in some way, John spirals into a whirlwind of skepticism and paranoia, questioning his wife's mental health. The atmosphere grows more unsettling as a series of disturbing visions and coincidences unfold, leading him to feel that something dark is lurking nearby. The city, with its shadowy canals and labyrinthine alleyways, becomes an additional character, intensifying the tension of the story.

With a chilling climax and an immersive atmosphere, the narrative explores themes such as grief, loss, and the perception of reality. As the shadows of the past loom over them, John confronts his own fate, overwhelmed by an impending sense of doom that only intensifies in this haunting visual fable.
