In this heartwarming family comedy, we follow the life of an overprotective father, George Banks, whose peaceful existence is turned upside down when his beloved daughter, Kay, announces that she is engaged to a young man whom her family barely knows. With his mind racing with nerves and his heart in turmoil, George confronts the reality that his little girl is growing up and ready to start her own family.

The story unfolds in a suburban setting, where George's worries for Kay's future lead to a parade of hilarious situations. From the anxiety over the exorbitant wedding costs to the chaos unleashed by the arrival of the eccentric future son-in-law, George struggles to hold onto the days when he could protect his daughter. But as the big day approaches, tensions rise, leaving George caught between his paternal love and his desire to maintain control of the situation.

With a cast of endearing characters, such as Kay's more pragmatic mother and siblings who add their own brand of chaos, the film reveals family dynamics and the unconditional love that binds them all together. All of this unfolds with a dose of humor and touching moments, offering a reflection on the passage of time and what it means to let go. In the end, George discovers that the true gift lies not in the preparations, but in the love that surrounds his family in this new chapter of their lives.
