In this dramedy, we meet a Secret Service agent named Doug Chesnic, a guy who has always done his job with dedication but, unfortunately for him, is assigned to protect Tess Carlisle, the widow of a former First Lady of the United States. Tess is a stubborn and energetic woman who has enjoyed a life of luxury and privilege. However, the reality of her situation presents a true challenge for Doug, as Tess is known for her indomitable spirit and her ability to complicate the lives of those who try to help her.
As the pair navigates through hilarious and absurd situations, Doug finds himself caught between the responsibility of his job and the irritating freedom that Tess expresses. She resists being seen as an ordinary woman who needs protection, leading to a series of comedic and tense moments. However, amidst their mutual mishaps, Doug begins to discover the humanity behind that strong and headstrong woman, while Tess, in turn, develops an unexpected bond with her guardian.
Throughout the film, humor intertwines with moments of warmth and reflection, exploring the connection between two people from such different worlds that, eventually, they will learn to appreciate their differences. With a stellar cast, this story reminds us that protection can come in many forms, often in the most unexpected ways.
