The King of Comedy

In a world where fame is everything, an aspiring comedian named Rupert Pupkin is determined to succeed, no matter the cost. He lives a lonely life, trapped in a fantasy that places him on the same level as his idols. Despite his obvious talent and charisma, his obsession with stardom leads him to increasingly outrageous schemes. Alongside his friend Meryl, who also shares his dreams of greatness, Rupert tries to make a name for himself in the competitive entertainment industry.

One day, he has an opportunity that could change his life: he encounters the famous television host Jerry Langford, a comedian admired by all. However, Rupert's admiration quickly turns into a dangerous obsession. No matter what boundaries he has to cross, he is determined to catch Langford's attention, leading him to devise an increasingly risky plan that involves kidnapping him to achieve his moment of glory on stage.

As the plot unfolds, the line between comedy and madness blurs, revealing the dark side of fame and the desperation to be recognized. Rupert is a tragic figure who, in his longing for success, becomes a reflection of many people struggling to achieve their dreams in a superficial world. The film offers a scathing look at the cult of celebrity and what people are willing to do to attain it.
