In the bustling backdrop of New York City, a middle-aged television writer, Isaac, finds himself caught in an emotional whirlwind. Recently divorced, he tries to find his place in the world while navigating a complicated love triangle. On one side is his young lover, Tracy, a brilliant student whose age starkly contrasts with Isaac’s life and experiences. Though he is drawn to her innocence, the generational gap becomes an obstacle to a genuine connection.

On the other hand, Isaac continues to grapple with the betrayal of his ex-wife, Jill, who is now in a relationship with another man. As his life unravels, the chaos of his relationships intertwines with his obsession with New York City, portrayed in stunning black and white, reflecting both the beauty and disillusionment of his life. The writer faces profound questions about love, identity, and the pursuit of happiness in a city that never sleeps.

As Isaac attempts to live up to his own expectations, his journey leads him to reconsider what he truly seeks in a partner and in life. The film not only captures the essence of the city but also offers a deep portrait of modern life, longing, and the complexity of human relationships, seasoned with a dose of biting humor and intimate reflection. In the end, Isaac’s quest becomes a mirror of the frustrations and aspirations we all share.
