During World War II, a U.S. submarine finds itself in trouble after being damaged on a reconnaissance mission. Captain Matt Sherman, played by Cary Grant, faces the challenge of not only repairing the submarine but also coordinating his eccentric crew. Among the problems they must solve is a lack of personnel, as most of his men are either ill or inexperienced. However, their luck takes an unexpected turn when they stumble upon a group of Navy nurses stranded on a deserted island.
Desperate for assistance, Sherman and his team decide to bring the nurses on board, but they soon realize that the mix is explosive. Not only do they have to deal with the usual chaos of a submarine in wartime, but they must also navigate the tensions between men and women. Amid comedic misunderstandings and absurd situations, the nurses quickly become an integral part of the mission, bringing both ingenuity and charm.
As underwater adventures unfold, the boundaries of duty and romance begin to blur. The film turns into a hilarious satire of war and gender roles, exploring how love and camaraderie can flourish in the most unexpected circumstances. With a stellar cast and delightful humor, this storyline is a perfect blend of action, comedy, and romance.
