In this brilliant romantic comedy, we meet Tracy Lord, a high-society bride-to-be who is about to marry her perfect fiancé, the wealthy and charming George Kittredge. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when her ex-husband, the charismatic C.K. Dexter Haven, appears just before the wedding. Dexter, a tabloid journalist, arrives with the intention of covering his ex-wife's wedding for a sensationalist magazine, as well as to revive old feelings.

As Tracy’s family and friends prepare for the big event, Tracy faces a series of comedic complications and unexpected revelations. Along the way, she discovers that appearances can be deceiving and that true love may not always be what it seems. With the pressure of social expectations and the press lurking, the situation spirals into a whirlwind of romantic entanglements and hilarious mishaps.

Ultimately, Tracy finds herself forced to reevaluate what she truly wants in life, challenging the norms of her privileged social class. As the wedding day approaches, the true intentions of each character come to light, leading to an unexpected conclusion that will redefine not only Tracy's future but also the meaning of love and happiness. With sparkling dialogue and memorable performances, this story cleverly and entertainingly explores the complexity of human relationships.
