In a dusty corner of Texas, a young mother named Lou Jean feels trapped in her daily struggle to be a good mother and partner. Desperate to get her son back, who has been placed in a foster home by the authorities, she decides enough is enough. Together with her husband, a troubled man named Clovis, she plans a bold escape. In a fit of impulsivity, the two embark on a wild road trip to retrieve their little one, which soon turns into an epic police chase.

As they go on, the couple becomes fugitives and manages to attract media attention, unleashing a frenzy of coverage. However, what starts as a desperate act of love quickly spirals into total chaos, as they find themselves surrounded by police who do not always understand the true story behind their actions. As their journey becomes more erratic and the situation escalates, the trio, which includes a police officer caught in the middle, begins to question not only the law but also what it means to be a family.

With a narrative style that mixes drama and humor, this film offers a raw and poignant look at the struggle for freedom and maternal instinct, leaving viewers reflecting on the choices made in the name of love. In the end, the real question is: how far would you go to protect those you love?
