In 19th century feudal Japan, a group of samurai embarks on a nearly suicidal mission to confront a powerful and cruel feudal lord. It all begins when an official from the shogunate uncovers the horrors perpetrated by the ruthless daimyo Naritsugu. With a reputation for brutality and a string of murders in his wake, Naritsugu threatens to destabilize the peace of the country. After the shock caused by his atrocities, the official summons a noble samurai, Shinzaemon, who is known for his courage and honor.
Aware of the danger that Naritsugu represents, Shinzaemon gathers a group of thirteen warriors, each an expert in the art of combat. Together, they plan an ambush to eliminate the daimyo and restore balance. But it won't be easy; Naritsugu has a loyal and ruthless army that will protect their lord at all costs.
