In a summer camp, a group of young kids decides to play a cruel prank on one of the janitors, Cropsey, a solitary and foul-tempered guy. The prank, which involves a flashlight and a burning cabin, goes horribly wrong and ends in a chilling accident, leaving Cropsey severely burned and scarred for life. After recovering in the hospital, Cropsey emerges from the shadows to seek revenge and unleash his fury on those who laughed at him.
As the tension and terrifying moments increase, the summer camp reopens its doors, filled with carefree teenagers unaware of the dark history that looms over their refuge. While some enjoy water games and night parties, others begin to notice that a stranger is watching them.
