In a quiet village in rural China, the life of a farming family is marked by the seasons of harvest and ancestral traditions. The story follows a young man named Wang Zhihua, who helps his father in the fields under the stern gaze of his grandmother. As the family works hard to plant and harvest wheat, they find themselves caught in a conflict between the desire for modernization and attachment to tradition.

The arrival of a new teacher in the village unleashes a whirlwind of emotions and changes. This educator, with progressive ideas, begins to question old customs and inspires the local youth to seek a brighter future. Wang, torn between his family loyalty and his desire to explore a world beyond the borders of the countryside, begins to experience love for the first time, capturing the attention of the teacher's daughter. This blossoming relationship reflects the tensions between the past and the future.

As the harvest season approaches, the village prepares for a celebration that could unite the community but also has the potential to rekindle old wounds and rivalries. Filled with beautiful imagery of rural life and a narrative that explores social evolution, the film becomes an emotional reflection on change, family, and the true meaning of progress.
