In a British embassy in Paris, young Philippe finds himself caught between his admiration for his beloved butler, Baines, and the complex reality of adulthood that he is beginning to glimpse. Baines, a charming and charismatic man, becomes a father figure to Philippe, who feels abandoned by his own parents. However, things take an unexpected turn when Philippe discovers that Baines is having a secret affair with his mistress, Mireille, which puts him at a moral crossroads.

The situation complicates when a tragic incident occurs, triggering a chain of events that will test Philippe's loyalty to Baines. In trying to protect his friend and keep secret what he has witnessed, Philippe becomes embroiled in a web of deceit and misunderstandings that threatens to destroy the relationship between the three of them. As tensions rise and the adults around him begin to question the truth, the child's innocence becomes a dangerous double-edged sword.

The film explores themes of trust, betrayal, and the loss of innocence through the eyes of a boy who, unwittingly, becomes a key player in a drama that exceeds his understanding. With an atmosphere of suspense and a deep psychological exploration, the narrative unfolds in a context charged with emotions, confidences, and decisions that will change their lives forever.
