In the bustling city of New York, an unlikely friendship blossoms between two men with disabilities: Wally, a blind man played by Gene Wilder, who has a special talent for getting into trouble, and Dave, a deaf man portrayed by Richard Pryor, with a sharp wit that keeps him always aware of what’s happening around him, even though he never hears a thing. These two misfits become embroiled in a series of hilarious events when a criminal, who has just committed a murder, crosses their path.

The story takes an unexpected turn when they become the prime suspects in the homicide. Wally and Dave must prove their innocence while navigating a world filled with misunderstandings and complications. Amidst comical situations and absurd chases, the duo encounters a cast of eccentric characters, all while trying to unravel the mystery of the crime.

As the plot progresses, Dave's wit and Wally's clumsiness complement each other in unexpected ways, bringing out the best in one another as they fight against adversity. With a perfect blend of comedic situations and a strong touch of camaraderie, this film not only offers laughter galore but also reflects on friendship and overcoming obstacles, with the two protagonists showing that despite their limitations, they can confront crime and emerge victorious.
