The perfect training plan if you want to start running

The perfect training plan if you want to start running

It is always a good time to start getting fit and start a healthy life, and when we think of an exercise that is ideal for this task, running will always come to mind. And even if we're right, it's not a good idea to just grab your sneakers and go for a run.

It is best to carry out this activity with a work plan and with objectives in mind, in order to know how to progress naturally. Of course we can start running for something more than just having a healthier life, maybe we want to improve our physical condition, lose weight, run a race or simply look for a healthy hobby.

What is running?

Running or jogging, as we can usually come to know this exercise today, is the physical activity in which a person performs a continuous run, generally outdoors. It is a complex and coordinated process that fully involves the entire body. An act by which the feet touch the ground alternately at a speed greater than when walking.

Practical tips to start running

Start with a good warm up

Warming up is very important as it helps us prepare our bodies for intense physical activity, as well as helping us to avoid injuries. That's why we recommend starting each training session with at least 5 minutes of warm-up.

Do short intervals at first

If you are a beginner or have not done any physical activity for a while, what we suggest is that you do not run a full distance in your first sessions. Intersperse walking and running, depending on what your body tells you.

You can start by alternating 2 minutes of running and 2 minutes of walking. Increase the length of your running intervals by one minute until you can run without stopping to walk. Of course you can alternate longer intervals, but without pushing your body too much.

Don't start too fast

For our body, this physical activity is new, so it is not used to the stress it generates or the demand it needs. It is a common mistake among beginners to want to run very fast from day one, but this can lead to injury.

Run at a moderate pace in your first days of training, so the body can get used to this type of exercise and little by little you will be gaining the necessary physical condition to increase the intensity.

Matter of technique

To progress adequately in running, we advise you to implement these keys in your running technique:

  • Try to avoid that your heel is the first part of the foot that contacts the ground.
  • Do not take sudden strides when running: the ideal is that your footsteps do not make noise.
  • Keep your shoulders relaxed and avoid letting your hands go past them.
  • Relax your hands: do not clench your fists.
  • Use the force of gravity as an ally to generate forward momentum.
  • Try to make your strides land below the line of your hips.

Choose the right surface

There are several types of surfaces that you can use to start running, among them are:

  • Asphalt or pavement:
    • It is quite useful to go fast and with little danger of sprains, although it has a problem and that is that it can cause injuries to the joints and knees. It is recommended only for light runners and those who are in shape.
  • Park or forest:
    • It provides better cushioning for your joints and is not as hard on the knees. It is likely to suffer injuries due to irregularities, we advise you to always be careful to avoid obstacles such as roots and stones.
  • Sand:
    • This surface is excellent for training the muscles, although it could overload them, so training must be carried out with great care.
  • Tartan:
    • It is the synthetic surface of athletics tracks, it is soft, spongy and elastic, therefore it does not overload the joints although it can make the Achilles tendon work a lot.
  • Treadmill:
    • It allows you to train at all times and with excellent cushioning, but it can become monotonous and boring..

When choosing one of these surfaces, assess its pros and cons, we believe that it is best to run in a park or forest, since in addition to having good cushioning it will help you to be in contact with nature and it will not seem a boring activity.

Don't eat heavy before training

Avoid solid food about two hours before each workout and drink small amounts of fluids. This will help you avoid soreness or flatus. If this pain happens to you during a race, it is best to take a deep breath, walk and apply a little pressure on the part of the body that hurts.

Do not start the race again until the pain is completely gone.

Do cross training

If possible, vary the exercise you do a few days a week, so you give your body a chance to recover and get used to another type of stress. Another benefit is that it becomes more fun and stimulating to train and we introduce different motor patterns to our body, which means that our muscles and joints will not get used to a single movement and will be better prepared for a race.

Don't forget to do a good cool down

After your run, cool down by walking or jogging slowly for 5-10 minutes. Your breathing and heart rate should gradually return to normal. It is also good that you stretch for another 5 to 10 minutes, in this way we predispose our body to a better rest and better recovery.

Take note of your runs

It is advisable to keep a diary in which you record the times made during your races. To keep a good record of each session add the following information:

  • Duration
  • Kilometres
  • Surface
  • Effort required
  • Food and drink consumed before and after the session
  • Climate conditions
  • Your feelings after training.

It will help us meet our goal and it will be a load of extra motivation because we will have a simple and easy way to see our progress.

Don't get discouraged

The results do not come from one day to the next, everything is a matter of perseverance, perseverance and patience. That is why you must continue training so that in a couple of weeks you begin to see the first advances in your exercise.

What items do I need to start running?

Without a doubt, the most important thing is to choose good running shoes, but here we leave you a simple list.

  • Technical T-shirt
  • Sports pants or leggings
  • Socks
  • Tennis
  • Earphones
  • Sports phone case

Training plan

The training plan to start running that we suggest is 6 weeks, you will exercise three times a week, resting the other days. You can do another type of physical activity to complement during those rest days, but taking care that you do not overload your body.

Basic products to start running

No matter what time of year we are in, it is never too late to decide to start an active and healthier life.

To start activating the body, nothing better than going for a little run every day. Before doing it and thinking that the exercise is as comfortable as possible, there are several things that we must consider within our equipment. In this way our experience will be as optimal as possible.

What is running?

Running, also known as jogging, running or jogging; It is an outdoor activity in which a continuous race is carried out at a speed greater than that of walking.

It is a type of exercise that can be practiced by anyone and has many health benefits.

What benefits does running have?

  • Helps lose and control weight
  • Helps reduce cellulite
  • Regenerates muscle mass
  • strengthens the bones
  • Fight stress and anxiety
  • Improves the cardiovascular and respiratory system
  • Improves the immune system, so it helps prevent diseases

What do I need to start running?

It is easy to think that any shirt, pants or sports shoes is more than enough, but it is not. We can consider aesthetic or health issues to analyze a little better what we will use before going for a run.

It is not a matter of getting carried away by the latest fashions and color trends, nor of spending a fortune on a hobby that we do not know if it will end up convincing us. It is more a question of fabrics, cuts and comfort. All these aspects are fundamental for a correct running practice in which injuries can be the order of the day if we do not take care of ourselves.

For this reason we propose a series of products and accessories that every novice runner needs to consider to practice this activity.

Technical T-shirt

Regular T-shirts made of cotton absorb sweat so they end up being a heavy and uncomfortable load to run on.

At first you can opt for simple shirts, the key is that they are made of polyester because they do not weigh too much, and that they are as breathable as possible.

Camiseta técnica

Sports pants or leggings

Tights are a good option for runners. They are comfortable, flexible and better keep the heat in the legs.

In colder seasons you can choose ones that also cover the knees or even the entire leg.

What you should keep in mind is that the more comfort and fewer restrictions a garment offers, the better its performance will be. Light fabrics and wide, seamless waistbands are the best choice. Perspiration and freedom of movement are the key to enjoying a good experience.

Pantalones o mallas deportivas

Sports socks

If we talk about running, everything that helps foot care is essential. So you should keep in mind that it is better to use specific technical socks for running.
The option of compression stockings is more recommended if you do an endurance race, but there are those who also use them for shorter training sessions.

Calcetines deportivos

Tennis or sports shoes

It is probably the most important point and the one that should have the greatest investment, not only economically but also in time. It is forbidden to buy the first sneakers you see, no matter how good they look.

There are several issues to consider, among them are the one that is designed for running, that it fits our foot correctly, is light, firm and safe. This choice is essential to run with guarantees, avoid injuries and not abandon the practice prematurely.

We must also take into account when choosing footwear if we will go for a run on asphalt or through the countryside or mountains. Each surface requires a different shoe design.

Zapatos deportivos

Earphones

Sometimes we can feel that running is boring, so we need a good motivation and without a doubt music is essential to run at the desired pace.

The best headphones for running should be attached to your ears and resist movement without dropping or bouncing excessively.

As for the shape, there is no perfect design, it depends on each one, so you will have to try until you find those that are most comfortable for you.

Audífonos

Sports phone case

If we want to listen to music and be aware of our cell phone, it will be necessary to get a case to be able to carry it comfortably.

Today the cell phone has become something essential in our day to day, so we advise you to get a case that fits your arm correctly and that is the right size for your cell phone.

Exercising is a great way not only to maintain physical health but also mental health, as it helps us relax and get rid of stress, as well as improving memory, our quality of sleep and helps us to have a better state of mind. .

Unfortunately, not all people love being locked up in a gym lifting weights or running on a machine without getting anywhere, this can get boring and that is why they give up doing any exercise. It is also possible that sports are not their thing and that is why they do not practice things as popular as soccer, tennis or basketball.

What are the most popular outdoor sports?

There are many sports that can be practiced outdoors but we will explain a little about the most popular outdoor sports.

Running

This physical activity is probably one of the oldest in the world, defining it is as easy as saying it is going for a run outdoors. Although there are variants depending on the terrain or the place where it is done, for example trail running.

Trail running is going for a run but in natural areas, that is, like mountains or roads that have rugged relief and unevenness. In trail running the terrain is constantly changing. It runs on trails, stones, mud, grass and even through snow

In order to carry out a good race outdoors, it is necessary to be in good physical health, since some of the constant injuries that can appear from practicing it are knee or muscle discomfort.

Running

Hiking

Hiking is the physical activity of going for a walk on marked trails and paths, generally in the mountains or in rural areas. The difficulty of this outdoor exercise depends on the routes taken. It is a mixture of sports and tourist activity, which takes place mainly in natural environments.

Hiking is a non-competitive activity, this means that its purpose is not to compete against time or against other participants. On the contrary, it is a perfect activity to take it easy, enjoy in company, share great moments and experiences, and disconnect from the routine.

Hiking

Mountaineering

Mountaineering is the sport of walking and excursions through the mountains, making ascents and descents in them. Although it can be confused with hiking, there are several differences between these two outdoor sports, the main one is that mountaineering takes place in high mountain areas, so its difficulty is greater than that of hiking.

Mountaineering encompasses multiple activities such as:

Surfing

Surfing is a water sport, which is carried out outdoors, in which the aim is to move standing on a board along a wave of the sea. During the tour you can do different maneuvers along the wall of the wave. It is vitally important to be able to maintain balance while moving.

There are several types of surfing apart from the conventional one, some of the best known are:

  • Windsurfing. In this variant of surfing, movement in the water is carried out using the board and a sail. In addition to maintaining your balance, you must be aware of the wind at all times to avoid dangerous situations.

  • Paddle surfing. We must go standing on a board with an oar, which is used to slide due to the impulse it provides.
  • Bodyboard. It is practiced sliding on a board in shallow water, with a board that is shorter and more flexible than a normal surf board.

Surfing

Rafting

Rafting is the English term for the descent of rivers. This outdoor sport consists of descending the rivers in the direction of the current with a raft. The occupants aim to steer the raft by using the oars to avoid obstacles that may be encountered during the descent. This activity can be done in groups, individually or in pairs.

To practice Rafting it is necessary to know the areas intended for it. It cannot be practiced anywhere, there are areas of rivers enabled for its descent, safely and in relation to the degree of knowledge and practice that one has.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling or snorkeling consists of moving along the surface of the water, with suitable material: a pair of fins, a mask and a tube; and observe the seabed. In addition, it is a sport that is also characterized by being able to breathe continuously through the tube that remains on the surface. This practice is also known as tubing.

Snorkeling

Dive

Diving, also known as scuba diving or scuba diving, consists of submerging in the water, be it in a lake, the sea or a river and thus being able to observe what surrounds us under this underwater environment.

There are two types of diving:

  • Recreational diving. Its purpose is recreation and enjoyment. It can be practiced in two ways, through free diving or apnea, which is the descent to the depth of the sea with free lung, and autonomous or scuba diving, through which the diver uses a bottle with compressed air. Recreational diving is generally limited to 20-40 meters depth.
  • Professional diving. It is considered professional due to the training, studies and licenses that the diver has. It is determined that the use of air rebreathers, also called "recycled respiratory assistance devices" is within this category, due to the risk and the level of preparation required by the diver who uses them. You can descend to depths of more than 100 m.

With these tips we help you overcome a love breakup

With these tips we help you overcome a love breakup

The question everyone asks after a breakup is, how do I get over a relationship? The first thing we must do to answer this question is to define that love relationships, as we already know, are those in which there is affection between two people, whether they are romantic relationships or friendships.

We also need to debunk some myths that exist about relationships that will help us put our circumstances in perspective:

  • Better half: The myth says that we can only be happy if we are with someone else. In this way we put aside our personal well-being and we stop knowing each other because we are looking for a partner. We must understand that in order to be in a stable relationship with a person, the most important thing is that we are well, it is a mistake to base our happiness on another person, it should be a complement and not a necessity.
  • Prince Charming: This myth makes us believe that a man must save us, since without him by our side we cannot have security or a prosperous future. If we come to believe this, we put aside our own worth and it can make us believe that we are weak people.
  • Frog Prince: It is the myth in which love can do everything, even changing the worst of men. This type of thinking can generate a toxic dependency on a person and even gender violence. We cannot cling to a relationship in the hope that that person will change for love and become the perfect match.

At the end of a relationship we go through several stages:

  • Denial: It is the first phase after a love breakup where it is difficult for us to accept that the relationship has come to an end, we will feel sadness and cry.
  • Anger: In this second stage we will be invaded by hatred and anger, believing that we are being treated in a wrong way. unfair or that they betrayed us. In this phase there is usually a deep sadness and there may be aggressiveness and anxiety.
  • Negotiation: During the third phase we look for solutions so that the situation changes. It is normal for us to act impulsively that cause different results than what we expect.
  • Depression: You will begin to understand what happened and you will understand that the relationship has come to an end and you will no longer be together. At this point you may feel very sad, listless and hopeless. Here it is totally normal to stop eating, sleep poorly and not feel like going out.
  • Acceptance: At this stage you come to accept that you have finished with your partner, regain strength and negative thoughts disappear.

Since we are clear about the stages and myths about relationships, it is time to move on to the ways to overcome a love breakup.

How to get over a love breakup

Do not look guilty

You have to understand that the relationship is between two people and each party has an important role within it: responsibilities, blame and reproaches are shared between the two. So we need not to create a story of good and bad, much less play the victim, this type of attitude facilitates depression.

Let's reflect on our behaviors so we can learn from the mistakes we made. However, this must be done with some moderation and as long as the purpose of our reflection is to move forward.

If you feel like crying, do it.

The first thing we should do is cry, so we can release all the grief and anger that we carry inside. We should not stigmatize crying as it will help us have a much shorter duel.

So if you feel like crying just do it.

Do not idealize the relationship

One of the aspects that will hurt us the most is to idealize the relationship we were in and our ex-partner. It will be more difficult to finish the mourning stage, so we advise you not to only remember the good times and focus on how the relationship really was.

Something that will help you keep fantasies away is to write down all those things that you did not like about the relationship or your ex-partner. Read them to yourself when you start to remember the good times, so you won't forget the bad things you went through.

How to get over a love breakup

Limit contact with your ex

While staying friends after a breakup sounds civil enough, it's not always necessary, especially when it's only a short time after the breakup. It is necessary to maintain a space with the ex-partner that helps you reflect on everything that has happened. Therefore, it is also advisable to remove him from all social networks, seeing how his life continues after being with us will lead us to experience greater anguish.

We must learn to be alone and the ideal is to lose contact completely for at least six months. It will allow us for the wound to heal correctly and after that you will be able to think about whether or not it is healthy to maintain a friendship.

Work on improving your self-esteem

It is common for feelings of loneliness, insecurity and even abandonment to appear after a love break. It is normal to feel this way as we get used to feeling like part of a couple. The feeling of insecurity can grow by not feeling good enough to have maintained the relationship.

To combat these negative feelings it is necessary to focus on our positive aspects and start working on ourselves. Think about who we are and what we want for the future.

Take advantage of the free time you're going to have by doing things that improve your self-esteem like going to the gym or creating a new routine. Exercise can be an excellent treatment against anxiety, it will help us reduce our depression and we will also stay healthy.

Another thing that works very well is to go back to doing things that one liked and stop doing or also experimenting with new things that for some reason we never dared to do.

Increase your social circle and go out with your friends

It is quite important to maintain a circle of friends after ending a relationship since they can exert a positive influence on us. Although at first we want to be completely alone and isolated, we should not go too far, it is something that will only harm us more.

Let's start going out with our friends, without forcing it, since we could have a hard time. Little by little recover your social life and open up to new possibilities.

How to get over a love breakup

Write a diary

Writing about our feelings and experiences after a love break can help us accept the situation. In scientific terms, cognitive processing is accentuated in a simple way.

Those who write about the positive aspects of the breakup experience more positive emotions about the breakup. Those emotions include comfort, confidence, empowerment, energy, happiness, optimism, relief, contentment, appreciation, and wisdom.

Rule out starting a new relationship right away

It is easy to apply the saying that one nail pulls another nail, but if the duel has not been adequately passed, it is most likely that this new relationship will not have the expected success. Until you have gone through the normal process of breaking up, it is difficult to be able to give affection to another person.

Ask for help whenever you need it

It is important to have a trustworthy person who can be by our side in all the difficult moments that a breakup implies. The support of friends and family is necessary and appropriate, you should not be afraid to show what you feel in front of them, they will not judge you and most likely want your well-being and support you as much as possible.

If you feel that even though time has passed after the end of the relationship, you are not over your ex-partner, it is advisable to seek the help of professionals. The psychologist will help you redirect frustration, anger or mismanaged anger and reduce your emotional suffering.

Don't be afraid to ask for help!

What advice would you give to people who are going through a recent breakup? Did you like the tips? Tell us your opinion in the comments.

Skin

The first thing to take into account is the preparation of the skin: clean, tone and hydrate it correctly. As a second step we advise you to cover dark circles and other imperfections such as pimples, spots or redness.

After this, apply a resistant base with good coverage and a matte finish, this will help us not to have to touch up our makeup very often.

Finally, tone the makeup by adding compact powders to the T zone of the face. If the skin looks very white, add a little bronzing powder, but be careful not to create unsightly cuts in the neck and décolleté area.

Eyes

Our advice is to use shadows in light tones from the range of colors such as beige, brown, pink, light blue depending on the color of your dress. If your complexion and hair are warm, choose more peachy colors. If your skin and hair are cold, opt for a pink color

If desired, line the eyes at the top with a very fine line to frame the eyes naturally. As a final touch, apply a coat of mascara to the upper lashes, choose a volumizing and waterproof mascara in case you break down in tears.

Do not leave this part of the face to chance, it is very important to enhance the natural beauty of your face. Take into account that in a daytime wedding using a lot of makeup on the eyebrows can cause heat and you will not feel comfortable.

Fill in your eyebrows, following the direction of the hair, with an eyeshadow that matches the color of your hair. Then, use a small brush to get rid of excess makeup, and comb through your brows with a micro-comb.

Lips

Color your lips with nude tones or a little darker and more intense depending on the color you used for the eyes. Apply a transparent gloss to make your lips look fuller and fuller. The key is to reflect a natural and elegant look.

First outline and fill in the entire mouth with a pencil. It is the way that the color stays intact as long as possible.

Makeup for a daytime wedding - Lips

Blush and highlighter

Don't forget to give a light touch of color to the cheeks with a light blush and apply it from the center of the cheekbones to the temples. The best option is to choose a blush that suits your natural skin color and is especially useful for accentuating and highlighting your cheekbones.

Finally, we advise you to use a make-up fixing spray all over your face, it will help you keep your make-up longer without the need to touch up.

Essential tips to start photography

Essential tips to start photography

The constant practice of any discipline is vital to improve the skills and thus learn more important aspects that make us teachers in what we do. In the world of photography this is true, it is extremely important to practice and experiment to become better day by day. It is not enough to read about it and know the theory perfectly. It is also important to clarify that anyone can take pictures.

What is photography?

In simple terms, it is the art and technique of capturing and projecting images using light. This can be done by light sensitive means or by conversion to electronic signals, ie analog or digital media.

How do cameras work?

Both analog cameras and digital cameras share elements that are vital to their operation, such as: the objective or lens, the body, the shutter, and the diaphragm.

A camera works similar to our eyes: it is responsible for receiving light rays from the outside and transforms them into an image. The light rays enter the camera through the lens that is responsible for grouping them into a single point and, depending on the distance at which the object is located, the resulting image will have a different size: it will be smaller or larger.

And the process to create a photograph is described as follows: by pressing the camera button, the light from the object that we are going to photograph enters through the lens, which is responsible for gathering it at a point, that is where the image is formed. If the camera is analog, the point where the image is formed is a film; if it is digital, the point is a sensor.

How did I start in the world of photography?

Learning to take pictures is not an easy task, so here are some tips to help you get started.

Choose the right team

If you already have a camera then you are ready to start, any camera will help us to start. Otherwise we have to choose it, but we must remember that the camera does not make the photographer.

An important piece of advice if you already own a camera is not to change it until you master it perfectly, get the most out of it before investing in another one.

You have to take certain things into consideration when choosing a camera:

  • No need to buy the most expensive equipment on the market.
  • We can start with a compact camera or if you want something a little more sophisticated, there are reflex cameras at a good price and with excellent features.
  • Choose the type of photography you like, this is important to choose the most suitable camera.
  • You must feel comfortable when holding the camera, choose an ergonomic one.
  • If you want to expand your photographic equipment you will not be able to do it with a compact camera, you should take this into account from the beginning.
  • Analyze all the options well and acquire a camera that meets your needs and budget.

The composition

There are technical issues that we need to know to take better photographs, some of the basic composition rules are the following:

  • Rule of thirds: It is about breaking down the visual field into three horizontal and three vertical parts. Obtaining 9 equal parts. The aim is to place the points of greatest interest in the photograph at the intersections of the lines.
  • Symmetry: Taking the center of the image as a reference, it distributes the visual weight equally throughout the image.
  • Patterns: Use all those that surround you, they are visually pleasing and generate impact. You can also take into account when these break and thus tell a story with your photography.
  • Details: Use details to highlight the background. Achieving a contrast of perspectives, with a detail in the foreground that serves to highlight the background of the photograph.
  • Natural frames: Use the frames that are near you, a tree, a door or a person. Allows you to give photos more depth.
  • Guide lines: Sometimes the scene we want to photograph already has lines that guide our gaze. You simply have to take advantage of them, obtaining images that stand out for the ability to have taken advantage of the environment.
  • Diagonals: The line in the composition when it is diagonal gives tension to the image. Both triangles and diagonals offer a sense of perspective and movement.
  • Odd rule: Numerical sequences and the regular make up a rule. This is how this technique is developed, which is based on the opposite, on breaking a sequence to arrive at the odd rule. Find odd elements in the composition by playing with numbers, and include them in the composition.
  • Fill the frame: Filling the frame, bringing the object closer to photographs, we capture the viewer's attention.
  • Rule of space: . If we have an element that sets a rhythm, such as a gaze, or an object that we know is in motion, we must leave space for where that element is directed.
  • Golden triangles: This rule is inherited from classical antiquity. And he maintains that every image can be divided into four parts, divided by two diagonals that cross from right to left, meeting at the center of the image with an intersection. The elements that occupy the space of these lines will be within a harmonic composition.
  • Golden Ratio: This ratio is based on geometry. It is based on a mathematical principle, which indicates that two quantities are in the golden ratio if their ratio is equal to the sum of both, divided by the greater of them. It occurs continuously in nature.

The camera and its controls

Get to know your camera in order to get the full potential out of it. Even a compact camera can be more flexible and powerful than you know. Read the instruction manual to figure out all those little symbols. As you explore, try shooting with multiple settings to learn what effects you can achieve with each one.

The controls and their purpose on the camera are usually as follows:

  • Diaphragm opening: Allows you to control the depth of field, that is, the distance in front of and behind the focused point that appears clearly in a photo.
  • Shutter speed: Tells the camera how long it will be taking a picture, and consequently, the amount of light that will enter the camera.
  • Light Metering Modes: Decide how your camera should measure light, using what are called metering modes.
  • White Balance: It is a control of the camera that serves to balance the levels of the basic colors red, green and blue (RGB) in order that the brightest part of the image appears as white, and the least bright as white. black.
  • ISO Sensitivity: This is a function that digital cameras have and that allows emulating the behavior of traditional cameras when they work with chemical film of different sensitivity.

Lose the fear of taking pictures

Don't be afraid to take pictures at all times, remember that practice makes perfect. In addition, in this way you can put into practice all the techniques that you learn along the way.

For this it is also recommended that you take your camera to all the places you can.

Use manual mode

Once you've learned the basics of exposure and the exposure triangle, and control all the buttons on your camera, one of the best tips for beginners is to review your photos. Try shooting in manual and review the images on your camera's view screen while shooting or directly on your computer, phone or tablet.

In manual mode you will be able to learn faster all the functions that it offers you.

Save photos in RAW

Change your file settings from JPEG to whatever RAW file your camera has. The main reason is to be able to have files with more information and possibilities when it comes time to edit the images.

Invest in a tripod

The tripod is a basic element for taking pictures. Invest in a good quality one that remains stable and does not put your photographic equipment at risk.

This item will help you avoid taking blurry photos when using long telephoto lenses, in low light, or taking panoramic photos.

Ask other photographers for advice

Ask photographers for advice, good comments and constructive criticism are an impetus to improve. So do not be afraid to show the work done.

Follow other photographers on social networks

Seeing the work of other people can help us improve, and it will also serve as inspiration to try photography techniques that we do not master. Learn from all of them and create your own style.

Remember that there is always someone better than us and we can learn from them.

Learn to process photographs

With the retouching of the photographs we will be able to apply photographic effects and tricks that will take our snapshot to another level. It will also help us to have a better understanding of the behavior of light, exposure and composition in our photographs.

We also advise you not to abuse the edition.

Take photography courses or join a group of photographers

In photography courses or groups you can learn from experienced people and practice what you learn.

What did you think of these photography tips? Did you like them? Do you know other tips for those who start in photography? Tell us about your experience in the comments.

I will tell you about my experience walking one of the Monsterrat hiking trails

I will tell you about my experience walking one of the Montserrat hiking trails

Montserrat is a mountain close to Barcelona, it is about 30 kilometers away and is very representative of Catalonia. In this place are both the sanctuary and the monastery that bear the same name of the rocky massif, which are dedicated to the Virgin of Montserrat.

There are several ways to go up to the sanctuary and the monastery, the most popular being from Collbató or from Monistrol de Montserrat. On the occasions that I have done this hiking route, I always start from the train station of this last city. It is also a good route with which you can walk together with your canine companion.

Montserrat is an excellent place for hiking as it has more than 20 different routes that allow you to choose depending on the level of difficulty you want, plus the views from some points on the mountain are truly wonderful.

How do I get to Monistrol de Montserrat?

There are two ways to get to this small town:

  • By car
    • If you decide to arrive by car there are two ways to do so, the first is via the A-2 or Northeast motorway and take the Manresa exit via the C-55 motorway. The second is taking the C-16 road in the direction of Terrasa and take the exit to the C-58 road, this last way of getting there has a toll but the time with either of the two options is practically the same, from 45 to 50 minutes.
  • By train
    • You can get to Monistrol de Monsterrat by public transport, there is a train that leaves from Plaza España in the direction of Manresa that takes us to our destination. This line is the R5 and has departures from 5:16 with two trains per hour, these schedules may change, so we suggest you check the FGC (Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat de Catalunya) search engine on the day you plan to go to don't get surprises. It is also very important to be on time for the train, because otherwise you will have to wait for the next one.

What ways are there to climb the Monestir de Montserrat?

When we talk about Montserrat it will generally be to refer to the Monastery, to get there there are four different ways:

  • By car
    • Through a winding road from the town of Monistrol de Montserrat. At the top you can leave the car in a paid parking lot at a cost of around €6.50 per day. Space is limited, so it is advisable to arrive early in order to have a place to leave our vehicle.
  • By cogwheel train
    • Similarly, from Monistrol de Montserrat, you can take a rack railway that goes up to the Monastery. The price is 11.50 euros per adult for a round trip.
  • By cable car
    • This cable car was built in 1930. To access it you can do it by taking the train from Barcelona or by car, there is a train stop before reaching Monistrol de Montserrat called Aeri de Montserrat. The cable car costs €12 per person for a round trip.
  • Walking
    • If you are a hiking enthusiast, then this option is the one for you. There are several routes that we can take to get to the monastery, the most popular can be taken from Collbató or Monistrol.

What are the most popular hiking trails in Montserrat?

There are more than 20 different routes in the entire Montserrat area that start from several different points, for this reason we believe that it is one of the best areas for hiking near the city of Barcelona, these are some of the best known routes:

  • Path of Les Canales i L'Aigua
    • This route is done on foot from Monistrol de Montserrat and is also known as the Romeo road to Montserrat. This route was the one followed by pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, who made a stop at Montserrat.
  • Drecera dels Tres Quarts
  • PR-C 19
    • It is signposted with the official short-distance trail markings, white and yellow. It partly follows the route of the old Camino Real.
  • Coves del Salnitre (Saltpeter Caves) Collbató-Monasterio
    • It is the easternmost access route to the sanctuary from the Collbató side. It allows you to visit the Cueva del Salitre, the Santa Cueva and walk the path of the monumental Rosario.
  • A la Creu De Sant Miquel
    • Arriving at the Monastery we can arrive by a wide and cobbled path. Between going and coming back it does not reach 3 kilometers. So if you arrived on foot from Monistrol de Montserrat you will not have to make too much extra effort to get to this place.
  • Ascent to Sant Jeroni from the monastery in a circular route
    • It is one of the most popular routes to reach Sant Jeroni, the highest peak of Montserrat. In addition, it allows you to discover some of the most beautiful areas of the mountain and even see some wild goats if you are lucky.
  • The return Montserratina
    • This is the most complete and hard route, it is an excursion of 22 kilometers and 1700 meters of positive difference in altitude. Visit the most important points of the mountain and it is suggested to do it in two days.

What is my experience?

This was the second time that my girlfriend and I did this hiking route in Montserrat, we started from the town of Monistrol de Montserrat and went up the path of les Aigües to the Monastery. We take the opportunity to visit the Monumental Rosary that leads to the Santa Cova de Montserrat.

Our intention was to arrive from 8 in the morning to take advantage of good weather, avoiding the sun and the heat of summer, which this year has been much higher than usual. Unfortunately we didn't manage to fulfill our purpose and the 7 o'clock train had already left, we arrived about 10 minutes later, so we had to wait about an hour for the next train.

The positive side is that, despite arriving a little before 9 in the morning, we had excellent weather so the route was not difficult for us. From the train station in Monistrol de Montserrat to the road to Santa Cova we did about 70 minutes.

The heaviest part is when you start to climb the stairs during the tour, it is what I consider the most complicated area and where you should take a little rest if you are not used to this type of exercise.

The visit to the Monumental Rosary took us about half an hour, since we like to admire the sculptures calmly. Already in the surroundings of the monastery we have breakfast in one of the cafeterias that are there and we visit the Basilica. On the way back we decided to walk again, which is easier than going up, only we took a wrong turn and ended up walking a kilometer stretch on the road, which can be dangerous.

We had no luck with the timing, since when we arrived at the train station in Monistrol de Montserrat, the train had missed us for a few minutes, so we once again had to wait about an hour for the next one. However, climbing the Monestir de Montserrat is always a pleasant experience.

Do you like hiking? What hiking trails do you know near where you live? What is your favorite hiking route?

I will tell you about my experience visiting the Cliffs of Moher

I will tell you about my experience visiting the Cliffs of Moher

During this summer my girlfriend and I took the opportunity to take a quick trip to an incredible country, Ireland. Surely there are people who might have the belief that the most important thing to see in this country is its capital, Dublin, but it is much more than that. There are around 3,000 castles or fortifications on the entire island alone, which gives us an idea of all the places that can be visited on this wonderful island.

What places to visit in Ireland?

Some of the most important places that you should not miss on your visit to Ireland are the following:

Belfast

Belfast is located in Northern Ireland, this city being the capital of the country. Although it may not sound very familiar to you, the city of Belfast is a highly recommended place to visit. Belfast has a history marked by armed conflict between Republicans and Unionists, which has left its mark on the murals of both factions.

One of the best-known attractions in the city is the Titanic museum, since this ship was built there. Another very interesting visit is Belfast Castle, on the outskirts of the city.

Giant's causeway

It is the most famous tourist destination and therefore the most visited in Northern Ireland. Its landscape is impossible to forget, it was formed due to the expulsion of lava from active volcanoes millions of years ago. By the time the lava was ejected and came into contact with the sea, it cooled rapidly, solidifying and creating its unusual basalt structure in the form of columns and geometric rocks.

The legend told by the inhabitants of the place is that there was a battle between two giants who lived in Northern Ireland and Scotland. Due to this battle, huge stones were thrown at each other that generated the famous causeway.

Dublin

It is surely the best known city on the entire island of Ireland, this being the capital of the Republic of Ireland. Some of the places that you cannot miss in this city are Dublin Castle, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Protestant Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Trinity College and for beer lovers the most important of all, the brewery. Guinness and Temple Bar.

Dublin is a busy city with plenty to do, you certainly won't be disappointed.

Wicklow National Park

Wicklow National Park is another place you should not miss on your visit to Ireland. It has more than 20,000 hectares of meadows and mountains with forests, peat bogs and lakes that constitute the habitat of a great diversity of native animals such as deer, red foxes, wild goats and badgers. Another of the tourist attractions within the national park is the Glendalough Monastery, founded in the 6th century, being one of the first Catholic religious centers on the island.

Galway

It is the quintessential town if you plan to visit the Cliffs of Moher and an excellent base if you plan to visit the east side of the island. But not only that, it is a picturesque city with a large number of young people, so the nights can be very lively. It also has relaxing canals to walk around and an elegant cathedral.

From this city it is also possible to visit one of the best known castles in Ireland, Dunguaire Castle.

Connemara

Connemara is a cultural region located in the west of Ireland that includes a wide peninsula. It has a large number of lakes and landscapes that can only be imagined in fairy tales. There are mountain trails for trekking between these bucolic hills populated almost exclusively by sheep. One of the quintessential places to visit in the area is Kylemore Abbey. Originally it was built between 1863 and 1868 with the function of being a residential castle and hence the spectacularity of the complex. From 1920 it was occupied by Benedictine nuns, although since 2010 it has been closed and only the gardens can be visited.

 Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher are the most important natural attraction in Ireland.

What are the Cliffs of Moher or the Cliffs of Moher?

It is without a doubt the most important attraction in Ireland and one of the most famous images of the island. These cliffs have an extension of around 12 kilometers and a maximum height of 214 meters. They are located to the west of the island facing the Atlantic Ocean, it has eight capes and almost vertical black walls, which despite not being the highest in Europe, provide it with great spectacularity.

How to get to the Cliffs of Moher?

There are several ways to get there, either by car, by bus through a tour, public bus or walking along the coast.

  • Car. This is the cheapest option if there are several people on the trip, in addition to the obvious comfort it represents. Remember they drive on the left and drive on the right. Important point that should not go unnoticed.
  • Bus tour. There are tours that go to the Cliffs of Moher from Galway and also from Dublin. Leaving from Dublin it will take you longer to get there, so you won't have enough time to enjoy the scenery.
  • Public bus. Doolin and the visitor center itself can be reached from Galway or Limerick by the Bus Eireann public buses on lines 050, 423 and 337.
  • You can take a hiking route to reach the cliffs starting from the city of Doolin, which is the closest city to this attraction. There are around 7 kilometers of route and around two hours walking.

What was my experience?

This was my first time visiting Ireland, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. We decided to plan a little before the trip since we were going to the island for a few days, what we had to see at any cost were the Cliffs of Moher.

Our flight departed from Barcelona and lasted around three hours. We did this trip with Ryanair. Arriving in Dublin we immediately left for Galway by bus, a transfer that lasted two hours. We did not stay in Galway city as the accommodation prices were very high, the hotel we stayed in is in a nearby town called Claregalway, 20 minutes by bus from Galway.

The first day we only had time to eat and walk around the city for a couple of hours. That same day we looked for the tour for the next morning to visit the cliffs, the price was a bit high, 45 euros per person and does not include food.

The tour left at 10am from Galway, we had to take a taxi from Claregalway to get there on time as we woke up late, this cost us around 12 euros.

The positive thing about taking the tour is that in addition to taking you to the Cliffs of Moher, they give you the opportunity to visit other places such as Dunguaire Castle with excellent views of Galway Bay whose main protagonist is the Atlantic Ocean.

We arrived at the cliffs around 2pm, just after stopping in Doolin for some delicious Irish stew. Without a doubt, the view you have when you reach the cliffs is impressive and well worth the trip. If you want to know more about my experience I invite you to watch the video.
