In this poignant drama, we follow the life of Ron Kovic, a young man from a small town in New York who, filled with patriotism and dreams of greatness, enlists in the Marine Corps to fight in the Vietnam War. From the outset, Ron's enthusiasm and commitment to his country fill him with hope, but his reality changes drastically on the battlefield. During a mission, he suffers an injury that leaves him paralyzed and forces him to confront his new life from a wheelchair.

Upon returning home, Ron feels alienated, both by his disability and by the disillusionment he experiences regarding the war, which has left an indelible mark on his life and that of his fellow soldiers. Confronted with the betrayal of the ideals that motivated him to enlist, he begins to question everything he once believed. His internal struggle leads him to become involved in the anti-war movement, empowering himself with the voices of other veterans who share their heartbreaking experiences.

As he forges a new purpose, Ron becomes a passionate activist, advocating for the rights of his community and fighting for social justice. Through his intense and emotional journey, the story examines the trauma of war, the search for identity, and the sense of belonging, demonstrating that true patriotism often involves challenging dominant narratives.
