Don Johnston, a solitary and somewhat apathetic middle-aged man, leads a monotonous life until he receives a surprising anonymous letter. In it, an ex-lover informs him that he may have a child of whom he is completely unaware. Driven by curiosity and a touch of nostalgia, he decides to embark on a journey through his past. His first stop brings him face to face with several women with whom he shared significant moments. Each of them represents a distinct chapter of his life, and as he searches, Don begins to reflect on his decisions and the course his existence has taken.

As he travels across the country, he confronts old memories as well as new revelations about love, family, and solitude. With a bittersweet tone, the film explores the complexities of human relationships, showcasing both the beauty and the sadness that come with each bond.

Don encounters quirky characters who offer different perspectives on parenthood and love, ranging from nostalgia to regret. This journey is not only physical but also emotional, inviting us to question how our choices shape our lives. In the end, what seems to be a quest for a possible child becomes a deeper and more personal exploration of connection and the ties that bind us over time.
