In a town in the Old West called Rock Ridge, the arrival of a new sheriff, the charismatic and bold Bart, raises many eyebrows. Bart, an African American, becomes the last card of the corrupt governor, who needs to get rid of the original inhabitants to facilitate the construction of a railroad line. But as Bart tries to settle into his new role, he encounters a group of racists who are not very pleased with his arrival. Despite the hostility, Bart stands his ground, and with the help of his friend, the legendary and bumbling cowboy Jim, they plan a ruckus against the town's villains.
With a perfect blend of comedy and satire, the film tackles themes of racism and politics through absurd humor, dismantling stereotypes piece by piece. The characters navigate a series of hilarious situations, including Bart’s gradual training to prove that he is the best sheriff Rock Ridge could have. But it doesn’t stop there; the film breaks the fourth wall and winks at the audience, leaving them breathless with laughter. With an explosive and surreal ending, both Bart and Jim confront a comically chaotic crowd of bandits and the governor's troops, all while critiquing the conventions of the western genre. This cinematic classic is an intelligent comedy that provokes thought, even as it keeps you laughing out loud the whole time.
