After taking on the role of Santa Claus, Scott Calvin has been enjoying his life at the North Pole, but there is a big problem looming: he must get married before next Christmas or he will lose his title as Santa Claus. Meanwhile, on Earth, his son Charlie is having trouble at school, facing the pressures of adolescence and, as always, adding a bit of mischief to his life.
To make matters worse, Scott discovers that an evil snowman, the "Evil Santa Claus," is wreaking havoc among the elves and upsetting the children, in addition to having plans to replace him. Fearing that he will be stripped of his title, Scott embarks on a mission to find love and happiness in his personal life before it's too late. So he sets off on a journey to Los Angeles in search of a girlfriend, while his elf friend, Curtis, stays behind to manage the workshop.
On his adventure, Scott tries to win over a lovely elementary school teacher named Carol, but at the same time, he must deal with Charlie's antics and the threat posed by the Evil Santa. With plenty of comedy and crazy situations, Scott will learn that the true spirit of Christmas is not just about giving gifts, but about finding love and family—two things that should never be taken lightly. The Christmas magic is at stake, and Scott must hurry to make sure everything goes right before the holiday season arrives.
